heres a couple pics from a barn find c. it was a buddies dads tractor, has been in the barn 20 some years. got it started yesterday. woo-hoo. serial number says 1948. hydraulic control levers are froze up by the throttle, have them soaking. this one has long axle shafts on it, boy are they shin busters. also has the seed drives on the brake housings. if you look at the picture by the clutch pedal, there is what looks to be a throttle control quadrant on the side by the clutch pedal. not sure what that was for..

Remaining piece of a radiator shutter. Looks like you also have one part from the planter row markers.

Dont know your intentions with those long axels, but u can cut them off with a cut off saw, and they will look like a factory cut.

Shin busters! You must be one tall dude! i find that they're real hard on the meaty part of the thigh; put a black and blue mark on you for a long time.

Now you got some nice equipment, the quadrant thing is whats left of the shutters and I'm schooled in long axles, took the center out of my shed door within a couple months of having my Super C.

when i get this one dialed in, its going back to my buddy. he has 2 more c's, and h, a 656, and a jd 301a that i need to get running again for him. i am leaving the axles as they are. somewhere at the farm is the planter off this c. gotta see if he can find it. all the barns are stacked full of stuff.

If he don't want the long axles , I bet me or someone here does. They aren't that common anymore .

(quoted from post at 07:19:52 11/12/15) Those long axles are great fence post pullers. After several near misses, I moved the wheels out with only 3 inches showing.
Same here......hit the fence once and you'll relocate the wheels where ya can't do it again. Did the same with my Super C, which is one of my favorite working tractors.

kub6040, what was IH reason for the longer axle?

Wider row , some pickers needed wider rows,I like W I D E
rows more hoeing and cultivating and easier to get me and
the bucket threw without knocking everything down.
