Looking into scrapping my Uncles 915 combine. It has the gas engine and has been parked outside for close to 20 years. All I know is it was parked when the radiator fan went through the radiator. He since got out of farming and it hasn't moved since. Don't know if it overheated or if there was engine damage.
I want to take a few things off it for some projects, (Steering system, hydraulic motors, hydraulic pump), but was wondering if there is anything worth more than scrap value left in a combine this old. Decreasing said value, I am located in South West Washington. I bet the heavy internal parts would be worth a lot more in Iowa or Illinois than here. Shipping cost more than value?
So, if I help him scrap it, what should I save? What has value that is no longer available that would be worth shipping to somebody that needs it?
Thanks.
