806 Farmall

I have an 806 Farmall gas with a 301. I just got done rebuilding it putting new rod bearings, a rebuilt head, and etc... Anyways, I just started it up today making sure everything was tuned right when I noticed that wasn't getting oil up to the rocker arms but oil is getting to the oil filter. I know that putting a head gasket on wrong can cause this but I can guarantee its on right. Does anyone have any ideas. Thank you.

Were the cam bearings replaced?

The oil to the rocker arms comes from one of the cam bearings, #2 or #3 I am not sure which. The bearing has a hole which MUST line up with the oil passage going up to the valve trail.

not sure on the engine you have but some have a rocker arm mounting bolt that has an oil passage drilled in it to allow oil to get to the rocker arms

Had that happen to me one time on a C 291 and the rocker support was blocking the passage. Just a tap off to the side opened the passage but I think I remember adding a groove to support so I could align rocker like I wanted. I am going to assume from his post he did not disturb the cam bearings.

You could pull the spark plugs and the rocker shaft and spin the engine over with the starter. You'll see soon whether you are getting oil up through the head or not
