I am trying to get a 53 T6 running and restored and having a little trouble with the carb. I had the gas tank, cleaned and lined, and cleaned out the fuel line, replaced filters. The engine starts and runs easily, however wont run more than about 2 min and dies. If I fiddle with the choke while it is coughing it will pick back up. What is the next step I should take to get it to run smooth?
Thanks for any and all help

Sounds like a restriction in gas flow to the carburetor bowl.

Remove the drain plug at the bottom of the bowl - you should get constant, steady stream of gas. If gas only drips/dribbles, disconnect the fuel line at the sediment bulb. Again there should be solid stream of gas. If not, check the sediment bowl inlet (bottom of the tank) and screen for blockage.

If all is well at the sediment bulb, disconnect the fuel line at the carb inlet and again check for flow. If there's good flow to the inlet then you need to go inside the carb. Either the inlet screen (behind the fuel inlet nut) is clogged or there's a problem with the float needle valve.

If it's supposed to have a vented fuel cap (I'm not familiar with the T6), maybe the vent is plugged. I would think even with a plugged vent it would run for more than two minutes, but it takes zero dollars and about ten seconds to rule out the fuel cap as the problem.

If it is a T6 crawler you are referring to there should be a fuel pump on the left side of the engine, at least there is on my 1948 model. Disconnect the line between the pump and carburetor and see if it's pumping.
