Hydraulic Pressure Gauges

Digging into some hydraulic problems on the 560. I want to buy a pressure gauge for testing.

Not a hydraulics guy here - so just wondering if there's anything I should be looking for in a gauge.

I'm guessing 0-3000lbs would be a good range.

But I see a wide range of prices for gauges - from $8 all the way up to crazy expensive.

My instinct is - if in doubt, go middle of the road. But I don't want to waste money needlessly. I can't imagine I need to be super accurate.

My other concern - know the proper operating pressures involved, but I don't know if hydraulic systems spike (momentarily) in pressure, like much higher than the operation pressured. Is that a concern here?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

a 3000psi gauge would work just fine. I use a 20 some odd dollar one (oil filed) from harbor freight if I recall correctly.

1550-1600 psi is what the 60 series should run and as far
as gauges you generally get what you pay for. I forgot the
book says a good 2000 psi gauge is recommended , to check
pressure.
