Need help 1206 question

Found a 1206 with a IH loader and new tires. Runs good and no leaks. Seems to be in really good shape, was asking 15,000 came down to 12,000 your thoughts? Still seems high to me. What would you do? Thanks

It is desirable as a work tractor, and has been seen as a strong collector tractor. They are as tough as they get. Make sure the TA and PTO pressures and function are to spec. Buy it if you need it or want it. Jim

Yes buy it. What's better, a few difference thousand sitting in the bank account, or a nice 1206 sitting in your barn?

Factor in what the new tires are worth and the loader. Look at the general appearance and go from there. I have seen less desirable tractors bring at least that or more. Also if any weights or a roll bar and I think it is a pretty good price. They are a good tractor for farm use with plenty of power and are really rising as a collector tractor. If you have the cash and the desire to have it then go for it. No real other need to justify it.

hard to say without seeing it, but 12,000 for a nice 1206 doesn't sound very high to me. Add in new tires and a loader... Of course they're rare around me so my expectation might be distorted.

Generally speaking however, I say on a tractor like that, your costs can shoot up real fast if anything needs fixing.

If I were shopping for one, I wouldn't be too anxious to save a lot of money up front, it could (will) really bite you on the back end, so to speak.

The price could be high or low depend on what you are shopping for:
a 1206;
a loader tractor;
or a 125 HP tractor.
