450 steering

I'm new to Farmall's having owned an m for about 6 months, and this weekend pulling in a 450 to the house. The 450 has an excessive amount of slip that in 5 th gear will wobble terribly when driving. I've looked at the IT manual for the 450, and have not read allot about fixing this problem short of replacing the worm gear, and shaft, and the sector. Is this correct or are the other things to replace or look for? Thank u LH

Could be a number of problems even a U-joint in the steering shaft. Had a problem like that on a 450 years ago and did something in the steering box and when done it tighten it up and all I did was open it up and clean it up and put it back together to fix it

The wobble is caused by worn out bushings in the front bolster. Nothing short of replacing those bushings will fix the wobble. The other things you mentioned will cause excessive play in the steering, but NOT wobble. That wobble is sort of a trademark of the Farmall letter and early number series tractors. The Farmalls that do not wobble have already been overhauled.
