Farmall 460 birthday!

Happy Birthday to my Farmall 460! It was purchased on this day in 1963 by Gordon 'Gordie' Miller at the IH dealership in West Salem, Wisc. Arthur C. Herman owned the dealership at that time; his father Fred was granted the IH dealership in 1927. As the second owner, I purchased the 460 at Gordie's auction five years ago this past September 27; Gordie was 87 at that time. The 460 participated in the fifth annual F A R M = Fall Antique Ride for Music, local band fundraiser tractor ride this past Saturday. Yesterday it took me on a scenic ride to a local creamery for pumpkin pie ice cream. I will share a photo of the McCormick Farmall 460 when I get a non-sunny day and proper place to photograph her. This past Saturday and Sunday were sunshiny skies with warm and windy conditions; great for tractor rides but not photography. I have the Operator's Manual with the 'Owners Copy' page information. The manual is mouse chewed and bird-dropping stained; seems just right for the old girl. Tractor Serial No. 32084 S and Engine Serial No. 36287. I have the Red Power Magazine page 87 'Peek of the Past' which features two photos of the Herman dealership. I neglected to write the year and month on the page but I think it was no more that two years back. Maybe someone could enlighten me on this.

Al, nice to see your thread and the history associated with your Farmall 460. Sort of an overkill to go for ice cream and I'm sure some coffee.
I looked back through my RPM issues and found it in the November-December 2014 issue as you noted on page 87. Will be looking forward to your photos when you have the perfect lighting, Hal.
