MCCORMICK WD6/ ID6

Thinking about crossing into a new world so to speak, going to look at another diesel. Guy says he cant find serial number plate but thinks it's a mccormick id6. What are the differences between a wd6 and id6? I know wd6 is wheatland/ag and id6 is industrial use. What special option should I look for to know what model I am looking at. What would be a fair price for a non running tractor with stuck engine, and a non runner with loose engine. I know it costs alot to OH. Any pics would be a plus. Thanks Jim

To my knowledge all industrials came with a foot accelerator. Also there's an id6 and an id6 heavy duty. Heavy duties have thicker rear castings, and solid front and rear hubs.

Jim serial number should be on the clutch compartment cover. Engine serial number starts with different letters for a I-6 and a W-6. I-6 diesel = IDBKM, WD-6 = WDBKM.
I-6 used a different ratio constant mesh gears than other W series and other gears can be different. Not regularly equipped with a PTO. Don't think IH equipped any. Probably because it would be faster than 540 RPM. Several options on how I-6 tractors could be equipped and I don't know all of them.

Unless they are different than the -4s, the fenders on the W will come over the back side of the tires, the I will stop near the operator platform. Just about anything optional on the Ws is optional on the Is, so just looking, it may be hard to tell.
