6V generator question

Does direction of rotation matter to a 6V generator. I've got one that I'm not sure what tractor it came off of but I want to put it on my A which is the opposite side that many generators are found on the old Farmalls.

There are left and right rotation generators. However, moving one from one side of an engine to the other will not change the rotation direction.

as the other poster said.

side of the engine doesn't matter unless you are changing the facing of the genny.

Motor test the genny and see if it spins the direction you want it to.

easy 30 second test with a couple test wires and a battery. test it as if it is A circuit as a first guess. IE. ground field and jump bat to arm
