Just looking around on the parts look up page. I was thinking that if I ever wanted to remove the loader that is on my 340 utility I'd need someplace for the oil from the pump to go. So I looked up the hose that would go from the pump to the hydraulic system and got a shock. The hose is listed for $365.00. I know it has to be a hose with special ends, but holy cow! These IH tractors seem to be a rich mans tractor. A poor boy like me can't afford parts like this.

Transmission driven pump.

Post a picture of the hose and hose ends. I made my own hoses for my garden tractor and Super C tractor using reusable swivel nuts. They're still
in use on the garden tractor. Hal

If you think an international tractor is expensive don't
buy any other brand , just borrow the neighbors , he will
cover all expenses and you won't have to worry over it.

Do you have any shops that repair jacks or hydraulic cylinders? Most of them can make hoses up for you and no where near the cost of one from dealer. We have a shop in town that will make up hoses and out of an industrial grade hose which is better grade than the ones from dealer.

I beleive in supportign the dealers, cause when they'er gone we're gonna really be sc###ed. But me, in this situation I'd go to O'Reilly's [ if you have one ] and talk to the oldest guy. Talk about Gates hoses.

An auto parts store would never be able to make this hose. The end that attaches to the pump has an end you'll never find there. I'd say it was a dealer item only.

If you can find a hydraulic shop that rebuilds industrial hydraulics they will most likely have or know where to get the fitting.

i ran into a similar problem on my 606, the hose that comes off the side of the pump housing to the main valve was in bad shape. most places wanted 400-500 for the hose because it has a special block on it,see picture.

I took my old hose and milled a new block to bolt up in place then drilled and tapped it for a JIC fitting and then just made a new hose.

That looks a lot like the hose I would need if I was going to remove the loader. It's one of those I might, and I might not sort of questions. I like to plan ahead just in case.

On many special hoses, grind/cut off the hose, trying to save as much of the e fitting as possible. Then weld or brase a 1/2 inch steel pipe fitting to the special fitting. I often cut the coupling in half to make things more compact. Screw a cheap TSC hydraulic hose into the pipe fitting.
