345 into M or SM

I know it's been done, seen several threads but not much on specifics like flywheel/clutch etc. I have a 50 M that could be a runner, and a 53 SM that's stuck but otherwise pretty good, sheet metal, brakes etc. Also have a Loadstar basket/boom truck that I might part out, no pink but only 42K miles, 345 runs sweet, good clutch, PS etc. Will the 345 flywheel/clutch assembly work/ fit in the M chassis? Any specifics on engine plate drilling or? Loadstar manifolds fit? Any other specifics? Yes, I have a Bridgeport and a big South Bend lathe
Thanks

Well ya use the back plate from the stock engine , ya redrill the stock flywheel to fit the V8 and you make the ft motor mount . Now the down side of all this labor is it will not work well in the field as the torque curve on the v 8 is much higher in the RPM range as the old org. engine ran out around 1550 and worked in the 1200 to 1500 RPM range the V 8 build it's torque at a much higher RPM range . Yes there have been a lot of V 8 repowers done around here two brothers did this years back , i have seen big block fords Mo pars Lincoln’s Caddy a couple Tank engines and a couple 549 IH truck engines in 706's Use to have fun with and Oliver 88 that had a 390 Gt engine in it with a 4 bbl carb , great wagon road tractor empressed lots of folks and really empressed Smokey Bear , Something about the 25 MPH and SLOW moving vehicle signs and something about not letting two smat arres boy in a V W not to pass on a hill while pulling two full wagons of ear corn . I thought it was funny .

Well, the only bad part is using the old stock M flywheel at higher RPM- that's why I have scattershields on my race cars. A heavy old tractor wheel could produce quite a few large projectiles. Any way to make the 345 wheel work? Might even be able to cut down a steel car wheel to fit the M ring gear? My South Bend is 16" swing
