I had a picture of my one row high drum cotton picker on here awhile back, single fan,got it all ready to go to the field and pick cotton, next question? Now I might have a chance to purchase a 2 row international cotton picker, would this be something to have as well to go along with the one row.? thanks Rick

Thanks I'm gonna try to work on this idea, I'm very happy with the one row and the way it runs is just great, now I will also have to make my mind up to paint it or not to paint it??What do you think?

And this is its work cloths

What some call patina, others call rust.

A coat of paint would arrest the progression of that tractor slowly turning into red powder. If it were mine, it would be protected with a coat of paint, even if it's going to get worked.

If it's a working machine, just slap it on with a brush. It doesn't cost more to use the right color of red, so I always go that route. I buy gloss as it sheds moisture better.

If it's a show tractor for restoration, well that can get silly expensive.

Rick I have some nice 13.6x38 firestone f&r if you are wanting to go that way , I would make you a fair deal on.

Looks really nice in its original condition.

Would be fun to see a pic of the other side... wondering how you get up on it - we don't have equipment like that here up north.

a fresh coat of paint is for the green guys who's tractors stay in the shed, us red guys like the more natural rust color of still in the field, hard working, born in the USA , lets get er done tractors.

Best way to get on these machines is climb up the row unit on the front right side, using anything you can find for a hand hold. Later machines had pipe formed to serve as a hand hold. Not too bad a climb the first time or two. If cotton is not picking well and wraps on the spindles or other adjustments are not right, it can be a long day getting on and off 2-3 times each basket. Machine will cover about 8 acres in a good day and could be as much as 20 bales. Unloading a half a bale basket 40 times in a day takes considerable time away from picking on the row. It also kept another man busy tromping the cotton in the trailer when not cleaning the row unit of trash. BTDT and it was so much better than a 7 ft sack and knee pads!

There was a restored one in Missouri That sold for 25,000. and it was perfic condition, new paint and new tires, looked great.
