460 rear end

broke axle housing on my 460 pulling tractor. what is my best option to make it stronger? a 460 utility rear end, or putting my motor in a 560. also will the rear end of a 560 bolt to my 460 front? my 460 has 2 3/4 axles. all help much apriciated

Well NO your ft will not bolt to the 560 rear end , so just how did you break the axle housing . I have seen the smaller 2 1/2 inch axles break at the outer bearing while under a mounted picker years back but when the made the 2 3/4 axles that stopped that for the most part . Now unless your making gobs more power then i have eve seen and i have seen a lot there has to be and under layen reason for it to break.

Don't know about the bolt up part. I do know after 40-50 years and more there is no telling what stress that axle had before this, and that could have as much to do with it breaking as anything else.

I was tug pulling and it only has bout 80 horse. I think it was the week point that I was bound to find eventualy
