FINALLY ! Start not engaging problem solved One day out of the blue, the starter on my 8N would not engage. I had just replaced the bendix 2 weeks earlier... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !! So, I assume it"s the bendix again. I tested the battery, I moved the tractor while in gear... I bypassed the solenoid. Everything was testing fine. I took the starter off, I looked and felt the teeth on the flywheel. I did some more reading on Yesterday"s Tractor 8N forum. I had the start off and on 3 different times. I did some more reading on Yesterday"s Tractor 8N forum. Last night, I found the problem even tho I did not fix it lsat night, I was very happy. The problem was the ring that the teeth are on that is attached around the flywheel, had come unattached. I am able to move the "teeth ring" around without it moving the flywheel. Mystery solved !!
