Recently got what we think is a Ford 4000 or 4140 backhoe that needs some work. When the backhoe is operated the front bucket lifts up automaticly and keeps lifting up. I"m thinking the oil is passing thru the bucket control, but what do we check or could it be something else? |

| I'll bet there was never a "power beyond" plug installed in the loader control valve.. When you route oil thru a loader valve first, then thru a backhoe valve , you need to have a power beyond fitting in the loader valve to route the oil correctly thru the loader valve so it doesn"t "back-up" oil and send oil thru the path of least resistance.. That path being leakage past the valve spool and valve housing causing the loader to raise when the backhoe valve is restricting oil flow..Also , check for proper operation of the loader valve..Does it not move correctly ? or does it not feel right ? Does it not center correctly when in the center position ?... |

| farmboy I had a Case 530 CK that did that. I pulled the loader spool valve out and put new o rings in, I did the bucket tilt spool o rings at the same time. It fixed the problem and is an easy fix. Good luck. Ed Will |
