JD450B engine swap.

I'm not sure... I would think any old style, thick sided 4 cylinder will fit..Maybe someone else out there can shed some light on this subject..

Thanks for the reply...
long story short...got our 450...recent undercarriage rebuild, motor was shot, got rebuilt but left out...unprotected...got a good price but trying to decide on what to do with or for engine...
looking on craigslist and someone had a running 239 for sale for a decent price, didn"t know if this would swap easily for the 219

Short answer is yes it will fit. May be more work than you want to do. Some things to think about are 239 came in heavy and light blocks. This may not matter in a 450b as the block is likely not stressed. The 239 may be out of a compressor and need the bell housing adapter from from the 219 and depending on the tach drive on the cam may require the cam to be changed.
The injector pump on the 219 likely will not fit the 239 due to different mounts. I recently replace a 276 with a 239. It worked but was way more work han I thought.
