I have a cat 112 Grader. I don't know anything about it. All we have the the number off a tag on the engine which says 3u92. We were wondering a year and where we can find a serial number. We are also trying to sell it if anybody is interested. That being said we don't know what it is worth. It has a lot of surface rust and windows are cracked and busted but it runs well. A ball park number is all we aer looking for. Thanks

Depends on age and condition. If it has the old mechanical blade lift, check it out throughly.

I bought a Galion 112 years ago from the highway dept. for $900. Spent $50 for generator repair and everything else worked fine. Totally hydraulic grader with UD14 engine. It was great for lifting rocks out of the ground; brother staked the rocks when he plowed. I set the blade at an angle, forced the blade corner down next to the rock and put some forward pressure on it at the same time I raised the blade. The rock rolled right up on top so we could load it on a stone boat and haul it away. The only hole was where the rock was in the ground.

We did all of our ditching with it and I sold it for $2000 after using it for 4 months.

The last I saw the state had set $2000 as a minumum bid for graders.

Craig,
Your 112 grader with Sn. 3U92 is a 1947 model. That sires was built from 1947 thru 1959. As for the worth, is somewhat questionable. They have sold at auction as high as $9,500.00 to, as lows $4,500.00 all depending on conduction of the unit as a whole and the desire to own one. They were power with a D315 engine developing 72 hp ., weighted in at 19,330#, speed is 11.2 mph forward and 4.0 mph in rev. they had several updates in their life span…many in the mechanical controls and etc.

Thanks so far for the help. Does anybody know of a place to sell it? We have a d4 crawler that I put up on here and we got a name and number of a place that deals in crawlers like that. Didn"t know if the same went for the grader or not. Thanks again!!
