steering clutch

I have a HD5 with stuck steering clutches. I have both out and apart. Can the steel disc be sand blasted to clean? How can I clean the fiber disc? Thanks

You could sandblasted the discs but if you removed to much stuff from you will miss some tickness on and you need 2 7/8" for 10 fibers and 10 plates discs together and if I can help am still have some good used plate and discs

I just did the clutches on my IH500. Went the cheap route by blasting the steels and used a palm sander to clean up the fiber discs. Both of mine had been sitting in water (clogged drains) until they were stuck from rust. They work great now. No idea how long the cheap fix will last though. Nothing beats new parts.
