TD-9 diesel pump

working on a 1952 TD-9 crawler with an IH diesel pump. The unit had sat for many years and all the fuel had drained from the system. When started on gas and switched over to diesel it would only idle. Took the pump off and sent it to someone to look at and said the governor was stuck and they got that going and sent it back. After replacing it it now will not run on diesel at all. I think there is still something going on with the pump because I cannot seem to get all the air out of the system. I get fuel at the injector bleeders that seems to be squirting properly but when I close the bleeder it will not run. when I crack the bleeder again there is no fuel there for a few seconds like it is leaking back to the pump or something. Also, when it is running on gas it wants to push some diesel fuel out of the filler cap on the pump where you add oik to the pump. Anyone have any ideas what I should try???

Remove the injector pipes from the injectors, put a squirt of fuel or oil into each fitting of the injectors, crank the engine over watching the injectors, you are looking to see if the compression is blowing back through one or more of the injectors due to a stuck nozzle, protect your face,if you have a blow back remove the injectors and have them serviced at your fuel injection shop.
Good luck

AJ has you headed in the right direction. I agree with him you probably have injectors stuck open however there is one more thing to do. Remove the injector feed lines as he says. Take a can of wd40 WITH the red straw , give each injector a good squirt. To this everyso offten over a preiod of two or three days then bleed the lines and replace them. You might get lucky.
