Case 580B Backhoe

I am looking at a Case 580B with extendahoe. Previous owner ran it low on oil and messed up the engine. When it started knocking he shut it down and hasn't touched it since. Everything on the machine was in good working condition when the engine went down. He has it priced at $2800. I am in middle tennesse. I was thinking this was kinda high. What do you all think? Sounds pretty reasonable to me even if the engine don"t run. I paid $2000 for just a backhoe, missing one stabilizer leg cylinder, off a Vermeer trencher at a sale last year. Plan to make it into a three point backhoe.

I would grab it up, even if you got another $2500 in the engine you would have a nice backhoe.

Thanks for the input guys! I offered the guy $2000 and am planning on going and getting it Monday. It will probably take me all day to load it!
