D2-D4 Cat Battery Box Cover

Does anyone make quality reproduction battery box covers for the D2-D4? If not, where can I find a good used one? I have a 1950 D2.

There is a fellow that advertises in the Antique Caterpillar club magazine offering the whole battery box assembly. Might try him for a lid.

I have a battery cover that fits an R2 Cat. I removed some internal box parts and then got the largest battery that would fit and start the Cat in our cool Minnesota climate. Old Magnet would know if the cover fits your 1950's vintage D2. I am not sure if I am going to be a purist with all parts original or more utilitarian and just use as modified. Let me know what you find out and contact me.

Battery box is the same until you get to the very late D2's, then there was some changes to the lid.

I dont have the top on my box right now, the battery is out and I am using it as a "tool box"
But I still wouldn't want to part with mine.
