In my service manual, it shows pulling the steering clutches, to get the brake bands out. Can the brakes be pulled out, without the steering clutches. Thanks Randy

(quoted from post at 21:53:14 05/10/11) No you need to pull the clutches. If you find one clutch drum chewed up bad come on back.

Thanks Bob
It looked like I would have to pull everything at once. Have a great day.

You take the clutches out individually. If you have dry clutches there is a support bolt with a locknut under each brake band that needs adjusting. Back it out a few turns when the clutch is out. If it's seized and breaks off it will be easier to deal with that way.

Johnny, what ever happened with the tranny in your 931, did you have to pay a small fortune to fix it or was it something simple?

Just posted a pic in COMMUNITY album of two 931 drums & bands.Might give you an idea of what's in there...

It cost over $7000. to fix, should be done next week.

That sucks! It should last a long time now though. Cat claims they have the most durable powershift transmissions.

it won't be that bad, the guy I bought the cat off of, is going to pay for the repairs.
