Thanks Old M for the info on D6B's. What would the oldest series D6 with wet steering clutches and a better engine be? I imagine wet clutches would be prefered. As you can tell my familiarity with Caterpillar is limited. Thanks again.....Ron

Oil cooled brakes and steering clutches came out with the D6C 76/74A's in 1963 to 67/68 but engines didn't improve much until the D333C on the D6C 10K series in 1968 followed by the 3306 in 1974.

They only produced 6,061 76A's and 3,108 74A's so you don't see many of them around.

Production of the 10K's were 13,703 units with a good survival rate and seems to be plenty around.
The 3306 came in at serial #10,056. Production ended in 1977
