JD 450B power steering pump

Does anyone know where you can have a JD power steering pump rebuilt, or where I could buy a new pump without having to buy from
a JD dealer? Also would it be possible to tee into the main hydraulic pump discharge and use a pressure reducing valve and bypass the power steering pump completely?
THANKS for any help, lerod

Obviously the "rattle" in the steer levers bothers you..I think I would rather put up with the rattle than steer the machine manually all day long..Those pumps are only rebuildable as far as replacing bushings and seals..I'm not so sure if hard parts are even available from Deere anymore.. A call to a dealer or check out the parts website will tell if they are..A pressure reducing valve ? Never gave it much thought.. Yes , you can put a valve in the circuit..Heck , anything can be done if you're handy enough to plumb it in..Probably easier to add a fitting to the reservoir can than trying to tap into the return line..Practice up on your brazing skills for the pressure line "tap" over the valve cover of the engine..
