Deere 310 D,E,G differences

What are the biggest differences between the 3 series. Are there any issues that one should look out for? On this forum I once read that someone prefered series up to 1986 over newer ones. I value all thoughs and opinions.

We had a 90 model 310C. Great machine. The D series is very similar to the C. Most Es and all Gs have a banana boom and the 4x4s have the taller tires. I think those are about the most major differences. Any others would be hp and hyd power increase and more electronic crap.
