After installing the motor and tightning the guide support brackets the question is: Before tightning the tie bar is the tie bar spacer, object 1 in picture, suppose to be snug before tightning? Mine has 1/8 inch of play. So will I need to shim it to make it snug and then tighten or is it ok with the gap? To me the spacer should be snug. I am new to crawlers so would like some imput! I am also posting on Cletrac Crawler site but seem to get better info. on this site. Thanks, Steve

If nobody can tell you here, maybe Zimmerman (landis) could tell you. He's another knowlegeable guy who deals in older cletrac crawler. Phone # for him is 717-738-2573, in Pa.

Well common sense would tell you it needs to be snug between the spacer and the frame. Now the catch is there are 2 part numbers for that spacer for the 42 inch crawlers. Also remember not all those crawlers have the same thickness frames. In 50 years time a lot of parts can be changed . How big of a hurry are you as I might even have a service bulletin on that? I will not have time to look until tomorrow night.
