A/C Model M turning brake lining oil soaked

i've cooked oil out of brake linings over a charcoal fire before...if you dont have the lining out you could try brake clean or starting fluid ...if you dont fix seal you mite as well buy a case of whatever you use.

We use a high a pressure hot water washer with TFR detergent to clean oil from brake linings, spray neat detergent on to the linings and let it soak in,then blast them with the high pressure hot water and detergent, rinse them off and blow dry them with compressed air.

Unless someone on here has a new trick, you will never get all of the oil out of linings. You can soak and wash and everything, but when the linings heat up from use, a slight bit of oil will find it"s way to the surface.
Best fix is seal it up, put in new linings, and you will not have to worry about it.

The question of how to get the oil out of the brake linings is well answered by Aj,cleaning the brake linings will not stop the oil leak, you are obviously trying to avoid a teardown,if there are drain plugs in the clutch housings leave them out,if the leak is heavy watch the finals oil does not go too low.

I've seen a brake shop put brake pads in the furnace, for bonded the pads on, to get all the oil out. This was after pressure washing the pads with hot water. The furnace used about 8 heat lamps to get hot. Dave

The lining is not on the tractor. This is just for a couple extra's I have laying around. As for lining on the tractor the manual says to put a plug in the drain hole, and fill the stearing clutch cavity up with gasoline, and operate it for a short time, then drain. Sounds a little scarry, but I have done it. It works for a while. Stan
