JD Winch compatibility

I have a 1963 2010 crawler with a (dead) Series 20 winch. According to the book, a Model 3325 will bolt on. I found a 3305 on a 440 skidder that is quite a drive away so I haven't looked at it yet.
Does anyone know what the difference is? What would it take to put it on the back of my 2010?
Thanks,
B.

They are both physically the same size, but have some differences that are mostly internal.

THe 3305 uses an separate control valve that is not mounted on the winch. Also has a slightly different type of pressure plate and parts might be harder to get for it - than the late winches.

THe 3325 originally had the control valve bolted directly to the back of winch and it operated with a control cable. The original rotary valve was very expensise and has a high failure rate. Later, Deere sold conversion kits to make it use a spool valve like the 3305 uses.
