Oil pressure gauge

Is it common for a mechanical oil pressure gauge to weep oil just slightly around the rim of the gauge? It's a Cat gauge on a 931B loader. I notice a little bit of oil around the chrome rim that holds the cover window on. It's very slight but is wet. The gauge works properly otherwise. Any reason to be concerned? Dave

It is not common, but I've seen it before. It should not cause any problems except for some lost oil.

Thanks for the response. It leaks just enough to make it wet around the rim and attracts dust like a magnet. I don't really lose any oil, it's just kind of annoying. Dave
