Hi,

I"ve got an International TD340 crawler loader and the bushing for the front bucket are very worn. The bucket actually sways side to side, and the rams are getting worn on the side because of this.

Anyone know where I can get new bushings and pins for all of the hinge joints in the bucket/lift arms?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. How do you "make new pins"?

What about the bushings? Can I jsut buy them, or will they need to be made as well?

Thanks.

You can buy both the bushings and the pins from Case, I think, which inherited Drott (although maybe they later sold it). My Komatsu dealer, R. C. Hazelton in Manchester, NH, is great at getting new parts for the TD340 whether from Case or Komatsu or wherever. The hardened steel bushings are hard to find elsewhere, but probably can be found. These pins are specialized because they are bored on the inside to get the grease to the right place. I bought a heat treatable steel, machined everything I needed, and then heat treated in an oven and water quenched. Forget which steel. I wanted to learn more about heat treating; otherwise it would have been better to buy them. If you have the Drott K3 skid shovel as on the original t340, the bushing numbers are S47398 and the pins are S27286M1.

On my TD340 the pins froze up in the loader arms, wehre the bushings are, and started turning in the mounts on each side. You want to be sure that that's not your situation; but if it is, that's not too bad to fix. I cut off the pins to get the bucket off, and then managed to whack them out of the holes. The bushings were OK. I made new pins, got everything lined up right, and welded heavy shaft collars on to replace the heavily worn mounts. I fixed all the grease fittings, including putting new ones in the end of the new pins, and its been fine ever since.

Thanks for replying.

It has a DROTT loader.

Not the clamshell bucket though. Just a regular toothed bucket.
