I am having trouble finding the tractor serial number. My operator's manual says right side on clutch housing. However, I have a later machine with the hydraulic reverser [no clutch]. Is the number located in a different location or is it that the number plate on my machine is missing? Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Russ,
Maybe you have the later 200 model.I think all 2244 had mechanical shuttle,as did some early 200s.
The 2244s had thinner crowd arms & slightly smaller track gear than the 200s.
My 2244s had Serial# on clutch hsg.

Thanks for the info. My machine has 2244 decal on hood and my shop manual states that 2244's had hydraulic reverser after serial# 7022850. I need to find the number plate for this particular tractor. Hopefully, someone out there is reading that has the later model 2244. I e-mailed Big Dean and he suggested posting for Marlowe. I may yet do that.

I dismantled a 2244 for parts and the serie number was on frame loader right side.

There is a number plate there for the Drott loader. The tractor number should be on the tractor somewhere, I think. Thanks!

They might be referring to the steering clutch housing.

My outdated operator's manual shows a picture of the number plate between the motor and the fuel tank, right side, just above the clutch housing. My crawler does not even have a flat spot there to attach a plate.
Thanks for the reply.
