I have recently purchased an International T6 dozer. It jumps out of 1st gear pushing. I was told to bend the gear shift so that it would go in further. Now it will not stay in 1st gear at all and it makes a lot of noise. If anyone can tell me how to fix it or has a manual on the transmission I would appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

my did the same thing, I took the top cover off with the shift lever and had a machine shop rebuild the rails with some weld and ground it down. a relatively easy fix. worked great after that. mine was a fortys model and the trans. was what we used to call a top loader type.

You"ll probably end up having to tear into the transmission. I have manuals and some used parts available if you need them. Contact me directly for more information. sales@pdmechanical.com

First gear is the one where you can get in a hard push and break something. (Finals) Don't use 1st gear. You can get by with second on most tractors by just not taking quite so big a bite. It may run for years without tearing it down just by doing that simple rule. Unless you have fun getting greasy up to your elbows.
