got a 450 diesel and the track came off so we want to tighten the track up some there is a cover with 4 11/16 or 18milli bolts that hold on the cover but when i get the cover of how do i adjust it and i was wondering is there a grease fitting somewhere that can be pumped full of grease to make the track tighter or is this type of track got the manual adjuster nut that has to be turned to be tighten.

Marlowe is correct. The adjustment is done via a grease fitting. Behind the front idler you will see a long round section. That section fits into the chamber where the grease is added. There should be a big square plug over where the grease fitting sits.

To put the track back on, you will want to remove the grease fitting. I recall there is a little check ball under it so don't loose it! With the grease fitting removed, use a come-along and pull the front idler wheel back all the way. Now you should be able to put the track back on. Some people say you have to break the track to put it back on, but I've heard that especially with an older track that is streched a bit that you can put it back on in one piece.

Once the track is on, simply pump grease into the fitting to adjust the track tension.

Good luck with it. I hate the thoughts of throwing a track on my 450.
