I purchased a magnatrac jr. about a year ago, I have had great luck with it. The only thing I dislike about it is the ride. Really no room for an air seat I reckon, but it does a great job of pulling 6-7 ft logs about 12" in dia. down off the ridges for firewood. Another thing if you order a new one make sure you can pick it up at a truck terminal (big crate very heavy).

Be Advised; those Magna-tracs are GARBAGE!!! And
I wrote the owner himself and TOLD him so...He never responded to my registered letter, either. I'd LOVE to get that ^$$*(&& in court and tear that silly-assed crawler design APART (I'm a retired design engineer)....STAY AWAY from "MAGNA-TRACS; they are TOYS...They are so POORLY DESIGNED that the manufacturer doesn't
even put a ROPS or roll-cage over the operator;
the silly little "dozer" is CHAIN-DRIVEN!! Go look
at the MAGNA-TRAC website; THEN get back to me!!

Wow are you sure of the way you feel? :) If your letter was anything like this note I wouldn't (if I was the owner) reply back to you either. Hmmm, let's see the home owner NOT huge contractor but even a small business man can have tons of work performed by these "Toys" without the huge cost of the big "toys". I have owned 2 of the magnatrac hydro 5000 crawler loader backhoes and thought they performed great better than a wheeled same sized backhoe by far. A little background on me.... I now have 96 Komatsu D21P, 95 Cat 416B, 91 Cat E110B, 99 Kubota KX91, 96 Magnatrac Hydro 5000, 98 JD 770 TLB, 96 Kubota L35, etc so I have a feel for equipment and really without owning one before how can one judge them? And as far as the manufacturer not putting a ROPS system on them that is not true for both mine have them, yes not a 4pt rops but you aren't going to collapse these very easy either. This really is none of my business but thought that everyone that reads your post should have some response to it.
