Have John Deere 1010 crawler with a gas engine.
Got the manual from Jen Sales. The manual has a very good
description of the Marvel-Schebler carburetor repair and
adjustments.
However this 1010 crawler has a Zenith Carburetor on it.
It runs with this carb but also is leaking gas out the bottom like
the float is stuck.
Want to rebuild the carb and fix it.
Did JD put Zenith carbs on the 1010 crawler or is this someones
modification?
I will pull the carb in another day or so and find the part number
and try to order a rebuild kit.

Tractor dealers and farm parts catalog places sold aftermarket/generic replacement carbs for many applications over the years and in the end Zenith Fuel Systems wound up owning Marvel Schebler.

If originality isn't an issue it shouldn't be to tough to find info on the 'net and fix what you have.

Well first off one need to under stand the up draft carb . The dripping gas out the bottom after shut down is somewhat NORMAL . BUT if it is a steady stream now ya have and issue . When you are first tryen to start ya pull the choke and turn the engine over if it starts like it should then ya see no gas dripping , if it does not start all that extra fuel being sucked UP now falls back down and drips out the weep hole a lot heavier . after running when ya shut the engine off the engine does not just stop dead it slows to a stop all the while still sucking gas UP and when it does stop turning and no longer sucking what goes up must come back down and ya get the DRIP , So before you dive into waters uncharted by you first make sure that this DRIP is not part of the NORMAL cycle of and up draft carb , remove the air cleaner hose and LOOK for the FLOOD if NO flood then it's fine keep fingers out .
