Whats the difference between Michigan 35A and 35B

Looking at a 35A but can only find specs for a 35B. Is the B later series or heavier or . . . ?

The one I'm looking at has a 3 cylinder perkins diesel.

general discussion on these machines seem to suggest the engine and drive train are relatively robust. brakes and electrics can be finicky. that fits well with my skills. of course glad to hear anything else I should know about these.

obviously this is an older (late 60s) loader and my proposed duty is a couple hours a week.

thanks,

brian

The 35B would be after the 35A and a 35C would be a later model than the B. It likely has some improvements over the A. Might be heavier weight wise, larger engine, better hydraulics, transmission, etc. It is hard to say just what, without the specs for both.

The one you are looking at is probably repowered as I think the original engine was a 2 stroke Detroit 3 cylinder.

Is the 35A a series 1 or 2, this is easily told are the lift boom arms in front of the operator or does the operator need to go over them to get into and out of
the operator station? A 35A is probably older than late 60's probably closer to mid 60's. Michigan sourced motors and transmissions from other sources, Hercules
and Continental were popular motors with them. Michigan built the bodies and assembled the units, there is a source of parts in Washington state and a place in
the area around Syracuse, NY.
