Help..piston is stuck in the cylinder . I tried pulling on the front idler with a chain to free it up . That didnt work . I have since compressed the spring and unbolted the assembly from the loader. Any suggestions ? Can I use some heat ? I cant remove the rod from the cylinder because the bolts are close to the cylinder head. I could back them out and cut off the bolt heads if I had to .

I freed mine by soaking with kroil oil and then pulling it back IN first--i think it got cocked crooked and jammed in---then pulled it out and resealed it

Did you submerge the whole thing in oil or just spray it on the head part ? How did you get it to pull out ? I think mine is jammed all the way in .

I just sprayed it with kroil and it must have self aligned when i retracted it--then pumped grease in it to push the cyl out

Are you aware of the danger from the the tension the recoil spring is under, if not make yourself aware as many people have been killed and maimed by the energy in that spring, if I was doing that job first off make sure the track is fully slack, split the track, undo the bolts holding the hard beam to the track frame and raise the tractor up with the bucket till it clears the flange, undo the bolts on the flange bit by bit till I got them all out, pushing the idler forward as you undo the bolts, the bolts undone, pull the idler out so the flange is out of the way, now depending on who has been at the adjuster last see if they drilled and tapped a hole in the piston to use a threaded bar to pull it from the cylinder, we do that it my place with all those type adjusters, if not you will have to hoke it out with two levers, replace the seals and bolt the flange back on using new o'rings, now try pumping in some grease and see if the cylinder starts to move out if so bolt the hard beam back on and connect the track and adjust it.
