JD 420C Steering Handle Size

I know I can buy some good used or new plastic. Anyone have the dimensions? I have a metal lathe and access to aluminum rounds. Seems like a fairly simple part to make. Might even knurl them for good measure.
TIA.

I have a 420C, but I'm not sure what part
you are wanting measured. Is it the
length of the hand grip, outer diameter,
inner diameter or all of the above? Or
something else?

I'm looking for:
Handle diameter (long skinny end diameter)
Handle length overall
Mount end diameter (where it bulges at bottom)
Mount end thickness

That should be enough to turn some out. I can figure out the threaded end dims, (thread size, depth) but if you know that it would help. I will probably use a 1/4" round over bit on the edges and the same size for the mount end to skinny end transition.
Thanks.

Why not just measure yours? You said you have a 420C. You can take them off (you will have to, to change them) then you will have all the info. If you are concerned about yours being worn, most anyone who has one will have worn lever grips. You could check with Lavoy, he might have new replacements.

Here's a picture of one of mine;

And here's the dimensions;

I don't have them at all. Just the threaded ends on the control bars. This thing also has a beer can for a gas cap, and another one for the air cleaner. Undoing all that. And installing gauges that work. And a choke cable, though I have not had to use that yet to start it. At some point I will also reverse the hydraulic lines so back is up and forward is down for the blade. A lot can happen in 65 years.

Ok, the rest of the story, now your question makes sense.
