trying to replace the lower radiator hose on my 1977 John Deere 450C dozer. Can't see how to get to the lower hose clamp to get it off. Anyone know? Thanks!

Sorry but to me this is one of those things that there is no "just do this" answer to. You are the one looking at it (clamp screw position can make a difference and is something to consider when you put it back together), know what you have for tools, and have to figure how to get to it. A nut driver or 1/4" socket set with extensions and u-joint may work if it is a hex head on the clamp screw. Maybe pull the alternator so you can reach across or drop the belly pan. Hope you have it in a shop, it isn't any fun working in short sleeves at zero, or below, because the sleeves of a coat prevent you from reaching into an area. Minor blood loss can be involved as well. Been there, done that on a 450E. I will be watching to see if someone else has a magic answer for your question.

I have a 450C but have not done that hose replacement. Just thinking, can you get down in there and cut the hose clamp with a Dremel tool and install a new clamp in a position such that
you can get a 5/16 socket on the screw head?

If the nose on that machine still has the hinge bars on it , unbolt the bellypan bolts and side bolts . Tip the nose down. You may have a
better angle to get to the clamp. When you do get it changed, position the clamp so you can access the clamp tightener so it's better accessed
next time.
