500c won't turn over

I'm new to the site. I just bought an international 500c dozer with 6 way blade. I got it stuck. I'm not sure if I have an engine or grant problem. The engine offer some black smoke and quit. Now it won't roll over. Acts like something is locked up. Any ideas

What do you mean when you say you got it stuck,are you saying that it was running ok and you got bogged down and it stopped and now won't start or you saying you bought it with a stuck engine?,if the tractor was running and you were working it there can be many reasons why it can appear that it is locked up,check the battery connections are clean and tight and that the battery is good,is there oil in the engine,are all the levers in the neutral position,is the drive train ok,those are the small things,the big things like the crank running a bearing,a valve dropping or a hydraulic lock(water getting on top of a piston)black smoke can suggest air restriction or a faulty injector,if you are not familiar with this type equipment have a mechanic to have a look at it for you.
