Komatsu D21p-6 fuel trouble

Need some help. I have a Komatsu d21p-6 dozer that was running fine until the injector feed pump went out. I purchased a new one and installed it. Now it will still run but it runs very rough and produces a good bit of black smoke at all rpms. Any advice?

Is the fuel system Diesel Kiki/Zexel by chance? If so make sure the banjo supply fitting bolts are clean, some have screens inside that get plugged with dirt/rust, then restricting fuel flow. Neighbor had the fuel supply inlet banjo bolt screen plugged on his recently, ran fine after removing the bolt, removing, cleaning, replacing the screen in the supply bolt.
