JD550G Wench

I have recently bought a 2011 JD 550G dozer with a wench. The unit only has 2000 hours but it has been repainted so serial or model numbers are hard to find and read. I
want to put new cable on the wench and am looking for recommendations on size and length of replacement cable. This dozer was owned by a gas company who primarily used
it to pull trucks out of the mud. The wench has very significant gashes in the sides of the unit where the cable pulled over to the side and cut the case. I would like
to get some rollers to protect the case on the wench for this unit but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The dealer wants model numbers
or serial numbers which have been covered up. Seems to me a wench is a wench. The guy I bought it from said something about it being a 40,000 pound wench. Help!!!

Maybe post some pics of the winch, there were several winches both original equipment and aftermarket that could be fitted to that tractor

what the seller prolly said or meant was that it is a JD 4000 model winch. There are 2 versions: gear in-gear out, or gear in-free spool out. Free spool is most common & cheapest version. This winch fits the JD 450/550/650 G dozers. Mine takes 3/4" cable up to 75' long. JD dealer has rollers, etc. you need. Don't bother looking for any used parts; they don't exist.
