M-600 Bobcat Variable Speed??

The original subject was "M600 Bobcat Variable Speed??".

When I bought my m600 it was missing the hydraulic hose on the control valve,so no variable speed.Can anyone describe where the hose connects on both ends?I assume one goes where I see a pipe plug on the valve.Any pics would be nice.This is a mid 70's model I've been told.Also,where is the fill opening for the chain oil?

If you want to send me your email, I can scan some pages from the manual to answer your questions. I have a 610 of the same vintage, so I assume similar.
 

The chain drive is lubed off the hydraulic fluid, IOW, the chains run in hydraulic fluid. The fill ports are the smaller domed plug holes near the fuel fill.

I have the hose and fitting for the variable drive off a 444 which I think is exactly the same as the 600. You could check with a Bobcat dealer to be sure. You can also get the operators manual from that dealer. You can get me through email.

Yes. There should be a domed plug on each side and a much larger capped hole on one side. The big one is for gas, the smaller domed plugs for hydraulic fluid. They tanks are in the side panels. Actually, the hydraulic tanks ARE the side panels. The hydraulic fluid is hared between both tanks, that is, they are connected. Fill one side and the other side rises an equal amount, according to my manuals anyway.

You need to get a manual from Bobcat.
 

Make sure you're looking at this site in "Classic View" (found in the small box to your upper right on the screen where you can log out) and view this thread. You should see an email contact option by my name. I have the hose and the fitting that goes into the variable drive clutch, the fitting is almost new, has maybe 3 hours run time on it.
