JD 455G Loader Questions.

I have never owned a crawler loader. I am considering buying one for cleaning wooded areas in Illinois. I looked at JD 455G the other day. The machine looks decent and started right up. When I drove it, it did turn to the right very well. I would step on the right turn pedal and nothing would happen. I pumped the pedal a few times and it did turn. I let up and it didn't turn again. The left turn works great. Is this just and adjustment or is something worn out or broken?
The other question is the noise coming from the right track, mostly when backing up. It sounds like the track is too loose and it catches the drive sprocket teeth. You can see it jumping when it makes the noise. Both tracks were sagging more than they should be, by my guess.
The unit has around 4800 hours. I didn't get the year. The owner thought it had around 50% left on the undercarriage. Can anyone help with advise? Thanks

only a new track chain & sprockets can help you. The ones on there must be worn out. $4000. Serial number will tell what year made. Could be as old as 1989.

The crawler is at a used machinery dealer and he said he didn't know the year. I can call an ask for the serial number. I was afraid of the tracks being bad. The sprockets were sharp on the tips. The steering also concerned me. Thanks.

I have learned that if the seller say it has maybe 50% tracks , it will be more like wore out. If it had good tracks he would say so.. Noise you are hearing and the loose tracks sure sounds like worn out track chains.

That's what I thought. It doesn't turn to the right either. I miss typed in my first posting. It does turn right at times, but only at times, after pumping the pedal. The left turn is fine. I test drove an old JD a year ago and the track was worn so bad, it actually jumped off the rollers. This isn't that bad. The owner thought it could be adjusted. I don't know much, if anything about these units. I'm a retired auto & truck mechanic. I do understand, worn out.
