Just finished installing a completely rebuilt 207 diesel eng in my 450 track hoe. Started right up ran perfect, checked for leaks
looked great except hyd. oil running out of the torque converter dust cover plate where the bell housing and eng. meet. Looked at
the book and looks like the only thing that it can be is a bad seal on the output shaft. I have never rebuilt a torque converter,
and looks like there are no rebuild kits available. I can get the different parts, bearings, seals, etc. A rebuilt converter is
around $3000.00 with $1000.00 refundable for the old core. Has any one had any experience rebuilding one, does't look that
complicated from the parts book. Probably can rebuild the old one for around $500 to $600. Now just have to pull the engine
AGAIN!!!!!!!! Wish I had thought of rebuilding the converter before I put everything back together #$@@@&&&*****!!!
Any ideas on rebuild or just buying one already rebuilt? thanks....Phil
