Is the power shift rear end the same on a D5 M and a D5 N?
I?m afraid of the tier 3 engines in Cambodia? Which machine would you recommend for an undeveloped country?

Neither one unless you have a good Cat dealer/service center close. They are both older machines and have numerous sensors, wiring harness plugs and connections all prone to failure. We just spent $18000 having the wiring harness and numerous sensors replaced on a 6000 hour D5N,that wouldn't rev up or shift due to breaks/corrosion in the harness. Cab had to be removed to replace the harness, trans had to be slid back to replace some sensors. You may be better off finding an older low hour D5 LGP in the states and have a certified rebuild done. The older tractors had a simple electrical system, mechanical gauges, mechanical fuel systems and much easier serviceability with most repairs able to be done on site.

No I have said all along that was the dozer you need to buy. Parts cheaper and a worlds of used ones out there.

CB take a look at this wide tract D 4 https://nashville.craigslist.org/grd/d/bulldozer-root-rake/6491154821.html
