1968 Ford backhoe

Neighbor has this backhoe and the steering will sometimes will jerk the wheel out of your hand into a hard right turn you don't have to hit a bump or anything for a few years it would steer one direction better than the other , and now it's doing this more often any ideas what to look at here's a picture

Looks like a 4500 Ford. If so, they have an interesting power steering setup with the ram and control valve mounted together and a lever within a lever setup all right in front there. When the pivot pin wears you get slop in the linkages and its get wonky to steer. There's an adjustment on the valve linkage for centering that might help if it's always wanting to go one way, but wear in the linkages is probably more of a root issue and that's harder to fix....
