Melroe Bobcat 610 hydraulic filter question

I'm curious if anyone here on the forum has changed their hydraulic filter on a 610 skid steer? I have one and the area that allows access to the 1 3/8" hex nut on the filter canister is REALLY tight. I'm wondering if there is an easier way to do this other than jacking up the rear of the machine or driving it over a pit allowing access from the bottom....

Thanks in advance-
M

Not sure about the 610 but on my case there is an oil filter that has access from the bottom. I drive it onto my trailer then turn it
sideways and block wheels to be safe then work from ground with skidsteer at waist level or a bit higher. Works good for me better
than laying on the ground working anymore.

the problem with the skidder that is in reference is that the clearance height on this is only like 8"- there is no way to access the bottom of this other than over a pit or raising the rear end of it like its about to tip over forward....

I haven't changed mine in a while, but I think I removed the seat and did everything from the top, even though it was a pain.

I just got my manual out and it shows it being done from the top. Remove floor panels and seat, which is easy. Then my marginal
notes say that I laid a 2' by 4' piece of plywood down from battery area forward to give me something to lay on. Then you can reach
down with your right arms and have good access.

man, I have no idea how you could possibly remove this from the top down

if I could figure out how to post pics on here, I would post a pic of the area around the canister to gain access to the hex nut

If you send an email to mine, I can send you a scan of the page from the manual to make sure you have the original configuration.

I have one- its really generic

I love the pic where it shows a wrench on the filter housing with nothing in the way- makes it look like this thing is in the middle of no where-

IIRC, I've sold the loader so it's
been awhile. I think I loosened it
from the bottom cuz you can't get
enough movement on top. Then I worked
from the top to finish taking the
canister off the replacing the filter,
packing and tightening by hand then
finishing up from underneath.
