Case 1000 crawler Roosa Master Pump

Thanks for the help on this forum. I was able to get one of my Case 1000 dozers running. I have a question for my other crawler.

The crawler i was able to get running had a speed advance master pump. The other crawler looks like it may be a few years older and the model numbers are different on the fuel pump. Here are the #'s on that pump:

DGV CL 437----7C 2000
127248 JD382F-234

My questions are; is this a speed advance pump? If it is not, will a speed advance pump still work on this crawler by changing the degrees on the engine?

Thanks for all the help!

Did you figure out if you have 1000 , 1000C ,or 1000D.
1000C starts at ser # 7101200 , 1000D starts at 7103001.

The one i was able to get running is a 1000 D. I found the tag at the back of the crawler under the fuel tank. The other is in a different location right now so i havn't been able to look it over. It has the controls on a tower between your legs like the 1000 D does so i'm guessing it's probly that as well.

Sadly George has Passed away.

Post your questions Someone will try to help.

I'm no George and he helped me out more than once.

I have a 1000D and 600 for over 50years. I'm willing to try.

Sorry to hear that !

I just recently bought a 1963 case 1000d angle blade crawler jd 382
I see parts and gaskets are almost non existant unloaded it and cautiously drove it up the mountain trail to my home.
Had goot trans pressure but converter press was at 60-65 psi but would drop
Down to 25 psi (or less guage looks to be stuck at 25 while off) and would lose drive .

It has set for years and I brought it back to life with the help of essential lube and and some TLC ( didnt put essential lube in hyd tank )

Where is the converter oil resivior and what oil does it take?

Thank you for taking my question!

Under the seat is the trans fill
And dipstick.

Case started out using Dextron
ATF then changed to there Case
Hy-Tran oil.
I have used both.
There's a filter on the left frame rail
Rear of engine.

Having trouble finding cas ih hy-trans, will JD hy-guard work?

I know this is a dead horse and have read and read everybodys oppinions.

But need someones opinion that has had them for 50+ years !

So what say you TGP ?

Ps thanks for all advise, my 12 yr old daughter and me did a bunch of fixing on it today :D

I'm not familiar with John Deere Oil.
Usually on the label should state Meets or Exceeds then lists other brands or Manf. requirements.

If your uncertain I would use Dextron Mercron ATF and called it good.

I ran Dextron for Years, and still do in a pinch.

There are usually some manuals on eBay so you should at least look for a Operators manual.
It will be a big help for at least maintaince issues.
I probably have a couple around here.

The engine parts are mostly hard to find and not available.
Case CNH parts store web site has great exploded views and some parts are still supported, but not many.
Under carriage is mostly Case 1150

Hyd. system take standard Hyd. oil under the right arm rest.
Engine oil I use 15/40 Rotella.
Final drives and track rollers use 90wt filled through the track frame,(plug on top rear of frame) unless been changed to newer style, Finals have there own plugs.
Front idler and top rollors have grease zerks, along with the U joints under the floorboard.

I use Baldwin filters on all my old obsolete iron.
Trucks or tractors.
Napa(Wix) and others who use Wix either
Discontinued some filters, or they don't fit right.
Wix outsourced all there obsolete filters offshore.

Baldwins are USA made and fit properly so far.

I buy them online straight from there store.

They will have all the filters for the 1000
Napa couldn't get the final fuel which is under the hood
And I bet that's the one your looking for.

Editing to add: Maybe I misunderstood what exactly your question was about. Maybe it is about engines only. The JD says John Deere to me but I think it would be odd for a Case machine to have a Deere engine. If you are actually looking for John Deere engine information I would suggest then John Deere topic section.

Hi TGP
So did some checking on headgaskets and found the # for the jd382 and the j382 are the same # on jensales website.

Does that sound correct to you
